– How many Utilities can the Energy Centre show ?
A1 - 4 – Electricity – Gas – Heat & Water
Q2 – How does it work. ?
A2 – A Secondary /Sub Meter is installed on each utility after
the main sub meter.
These meters have mbus protocol which communicate with a mbus master
(data collector) This data is configure by the Energy Centre software
to give you the on screen information.
Q3 - What is Mbus protocol ?
A3 – M Bus is a language specifically designed for the reading
of utility meters, it
provides highly accurate data, and is the preferred communication language,
of the new generation of ‘Smart Meter’s’ . http://www.m-bus.com
Q4 – What is included in the Energy Centre Package ?
A4 – Utility Meters mbus enabled + M Bus Master (Data Collector)
+ Netbook/Laptop
Computer + TV Screen is required but not supplied by us.
Q5 – Does the Energy Centre require specialist installers ?
A5 - The Utility meters can be installed by your local contractors,
and the rest is basically a
plug and play installation, we despatch the Netbook Computer with all
the software
configured and ready to go.
Q6 - Can I use my own computer instead of the Netbook Laptop ?
A6 - No the software is despatched fully configured, and putting onto
another PC
could damage its operational integrity.
Q7 - How much does the software cost ?
A7 - The Software is FREE OF CHARGE .. it costs nothing and is configured
onto a Netbook
Laptop Computer for which there is a small set up charge. There should
never be a reason to change the settings in future.
Q8 - How much does
the Energy Centre Package Cost ?

Q9 – Why cant I use the Primary Utility Meters that are already
there ?
A 9 - Utility Companies will not allow access to their meters and primary
utility meters do not have the communication protocols to communicate
with the Energy Centre Software
Q10 – What
do I need to receive an accurate quotation?
A 10 – The following information – mostly gathered from
your current utility meters
Electricity – Single Or Three Phase and amperage ( Three Phase)
Gas – Pipe Size + ‘U’ rating or Max Flow Rate
Heat - Hot Or Chilled & Pipe Size
Water – Pipe size
Note** Without the above information we cannot give an accurate quotation.
Q11- What guarantee is on the products?
A11 – All products we manufacture have a warranty against mechanical
failure or similar for
a period of 12 months . The Netbook Computer has a similar warranty
with the manufacturer

What if I wish to display other Energy information on screen?
A 12 – We will gladly evaluate this but the software changes are
likely to be chargeable
Q13 – How do I get an accurate quotation?
A13 - Please forward information as listed in A10 to sales@meters .co.uk
You will receive a quotation by return.
Q14 – What If I don’t have gas or heat metering in my building.
The Energy Centre
Software will be preset to display only the meters and utilities connected.
