Q1 - I don't understand all the technical jargon -- why are the Tomi Range dry dials- multi jet such good quality
A1 -- Tomi's are dry dials -- lower quality product are known as wet dials -- the wet dails allows the water over the
reading face which soon discolours and destroys the reading face -- Tomi's are a quality product at budget prices
Q2 - Do you have hot water meters
A2 - Yes TOMI's have both hot & cold in their range of water meters
Q3 - Why do I need a hot water meter, wont cold always do !!!
A3 - Cold Meters are designed for temperatures up to 40C --- Hot Water Meters have a different interior
design and are suitable for temperatures for up to 90c
Q4 - I am using the meter in a Building Management System what about a pulsed out put version
A4 - Both hot and cot versions have a pulsed output available
Q5 - Are TOMi's's expensive
A5 - No all our products are manufactured to a high quality and are low cost
Q6 - What options are available for Energy billing within Heating & Cooling Systems
A6 - Please refer to www.hcm4.com
Q7 - My water pipes are in awkward places such as beneath floors and in ceilings they are going to be very
difficult to read, is there anything I can do ?
A7 - Yes RCU's are made to solve this problem (remote counter units) they are designed to assist easy reading
Remote Counter Units
Q8 - I would like an instantaneous flow reading (ie the flow through the meter at the time of viewing) is it
possible ?
A8 - Meters give normally a total only (ie the total flow through the meter) however by attaching a UM420
and connecting the pulsed output from the meter to the UM420 this can be achieved please view details
Utility Meter 4 -20
Q9 - Can you provide a Automatic Meter Reading system - so i do not have too read the meters manually
A9 - Yes we manufacture a number of AMR options please contact to discuss your project requirements.
Q10 - My water meter is to be located outside what protection is required A10 - TOMi's have frost protection in their design, but in freezing temperatures (winter conditions) water will freeze and could damage the meter. We strongly recommend in external locations that Thermal Jackets are used
Q11 - In hot water applications do the meters require insulation
A11 - Yes where hot water installations a temperature differential such as heating and ambient air temperature its recommend that Thermal Jackets are used
Q12 - What is a WRAS Approved Product and why ? do i need it ?
A12 - Water Regulations Advisory Scheme all Water Meters connected to the public/mains water supply in the UK
must be a Wras approved product. It is a criminal offence to fit a non approved product
WRAS APPROVAL All TOMi meters are WRAS approved
